It started out easy, then it got stupid.
Well my day started out with a pretty simple stop. Â Computer didn’t have sound, wouldn’t print and couldn’t access “Microsoft”. Â I un-muted the volume, moved the USB cable that was mistakingly put into the cable modem when it was disconnected back into the printer and sold a copy of Microsoft Office 2007.The stupidity part came when I had a simple networking stop. Â Client bought a new desktop and had a wireless network that was setup about 2 years ago. Â He decided he could take the wireless PCI card out himself, and put it in the new computer. Â Obviously the new computer runs Vista. Â The client installed the old unusable copy of the drivers, and software. Â The only thing that saved him from causing some major problems with his OS is that he never firmly seated the card in the PCI slot. Â Also the entire network was not functioning, so I power cycled the modem and router and solved that quickly.I guess it’s just another day in the life of a Geek.When I was finally done for the day the family and I went to Asian Cafe for some nice dinner, and did a little grocery shopping over at Gerritys. Â Now we are all hanging out, relaxing and watching American Idol.Â
