Today is the day that all my packages arrive. I am very exited. I broke down and ordered a Black MacBook with AppleCare and a MobileMe - Family Pack. I figured I didn’t need the power of the MacBook Pro yet, and I can wait until after MacWorld to get one if I decide that I need the power. I also wanted to save the extra money I would of spent on the MacBook Pro and use it toward the best package of them all.
The baby is coming home today. The 5 day long hospital stay is finally coming to an end, and little Juliana will finally get to come home and see her room and all of her toys and clothes. I can’t believe how much more stuff we have gotten since the baby was born. It seemed that everyday I came home I had another car full of stuff to bring into the house.
Barrons reports on an analyst note from Citigroup’s Richard Gardner who claims to have received confirmation that new MacBooks are shipping. The report cites “field checks” as the source of the information and describes the new MacBooks with a “very thin aluminum casing, an LED-backlit display and an aggressive entry-level price point.”
I had gotten a message on the blog yesterday inviting me to review a Nokia phone. I’ve got to admit that I was a little skeptical at first, but after doing my due diligence in research I found that the company is legit. So I sent in an e-mail yesterday to follow up on the request. I am happy to say I got an e-mail back from them today, and they will be providing me with a Nokia E66 for a two week review.
As soon as the device comes in I will start putting it through it’s paces and let all my loyal followers know about the phone. Don’t worry about any integrity issues either, if the phone sucks I won’t hold back on bashing it. Who knows, maybe this will turn into a more long term relationship with this company and I will get to try out a few other cool phones.
Saw this clip on digg earlier and thought of some previous jobs I’ve held, and the stupid decisions that were handed down to us. I’m happy that my current boss is also a developer and he knows not to do anything stupid.
Well anybody that reads my blog should know by now that I’m a total geek. So when I’m not working and dressed up I love to show off my geek cred proudly. So here are a few sites that I would recommend to get your geek on.
So I just wrote that nice little article about making a headphone stand, which I’ve included a copy of below.
I went over to Ikea signed up for an account and tried to purchase the items needed to assemble my new headphone stand. Unfortunately Ikea decided that they would inform me that one of the items I wanted to order was not available for shipping. This isn’t that big of a problem, but the closest Ikea to me is two hours away and I would have to wait to obtain the parts whenever it is I would be in that area next. My problem with the whole thing is they don’t tell you what part it is. This is what they displayed on the page.
Yeah, how nice of them to not let you know what they can’t ship. Maybe it’s all the pieces, but at least they should put a little asterisk in there somewhere. This was my first attempt to purchase anything at Ikea, and so far they are not impressing me. I’ve always wanted to go to one of their retail locations, maybe I should just skip that as well. I’ve heard they are like mazes.
Just saw this over on lifehacker. They got it from
Basically it is instructions on how to take three different pieces from Ikea and turn them into a nice headphone stand. I have a nice pair of plantronics headphones that I use to record Growing Up Geek. The problem is that I have no place to keep them nice, they get tangled up in everything and it’s so annoying. So after reading through the article on ikeahacker, I’ve decided I need one of these stands. So I am going to order the parts and build two sets, yes two sets, because when you order the parts you need you get just about enough to make two sets. So if anyone would like the second set just let me know, I’d be happy to split the price with you.

Let me preface this post by saying that I know it’s not going to happen, but it sure would be nice.
Today on Digg there was an Article showing what looks like an ad for the new MacBook Pro. It shows it looking for like the Air, but larger, heavier and more powerful. There is also an article to
this form post. One of the pictures in this post shows this text “The New MacBook Thinner Then Ever Before Coming September 23rd”. Now September 23rd is a big day for me, it just happens to be my 30th birthday. So that’s it really. I want to get a MacBook Pro and I am holding out until the new ones come out. So maybe I can get it as a birthday present to myself. Although, the baby is due close to my birthday as well. That means I will have the best present in the world, but maybe I could still manage to obtain the MacBook Pro and have the second best birthday present in the world.
I would also like to note that I am very tired, and haven’t been sleeping well. I am hoping this all made sense. I’m off now to try and get some of that rare sleep stuff. G’night all.
As you may know I am a strong believer in Windows Home Server and believe home servers are going to be a big part of computing within the upcoming years.
So today is a special day for you. Microsoft is allowing you to download a 120 day trial of Windows Home Server. I personally can not say enough good things about WHS, although in the beginning there were some problems such as the notorious data corruption bug.
For those of you whom may be interested in the trial, here is the information.
