As expected with the notification of the Kindle being on short supply, it has been announced that Amazon will be releasing a new Kindle on August 27th. The new Kindle is priced at $139 for a Wi-Fi only model, and $189 for a Wi-Fi with 3G. Both models will be on sale August 27th.

Farmville causes a quick Firefox update.

Those of us using Firefox may have noticed that a rather quick update came in over the weekend. That is because the newest Firefox has a feature that helps keep plugins from crashing your Firefox instance. Well the issue people were noticing with Farmville is that the game would cause a timeout waiting for the plugin check to happen. So Mozilla scrambled over the weekend and enabled a temporary fix, which is just basically decreasing the time for the timeout. A more permanent fix will happen in the future.

It just goes to show you how popular Farmville is, I personally have never even seen it in action besides being demoed on stage at WWDC 2010 and I never plan on changing that. Granted it affected other webapps and plugins as well, but Farmville was the one everyone really noticed.

1. Add Pride and Prejudice (Everyman’s Library) to your cart by clicking the link.
2. Add the book to cart using the “Add to cart with free 2-day shipping” button on the right of the page (if visible). If the button is not visible, simply add the book to cart
3. Login to your account, and sign up for free 3-month trial of Amazon Prime when prompted.
If the button was not visible in (2), in cart switch to “FREE Two-Day Shipping with a free trial of Amazon Prime” shipping. Then sign up for the trial as prompted.
4. Once sign up is completed, remove the book from your cart
5. Click Here, log in if prompted and turn off your prime membership from automatic upgrade by clicking “Do Not Upgrade” button, and confirm your selection
6. Enjoy your free 3-month trial of Amazon Prime

I’ve been searching for a while to find just the right iPhone dock, and I think I may have found it with the Platinum Podium
.

It has the sleek styling that is very similar to that of Apple, and has the ability to rotate the iPhone. I think I may order up one and write up a review on it.

How to: Create an ISO on Mac OS XFiled Under: Apple, How To, Software, Technology, geek

This is a fairly simple process, but not everybody knows how to accomplish it.

1: Put the CD or DVD into the drive
2: Open Disk Utility (Applications -> Utilities)
3: Select the disk, not the media
4: Select File -> New -> Disk Image (It should be the name of the disk you want to make an ISO of)
5: Select CD/DVD master from the “image format” drop down
6: Click save
7: This creates a .cdr extension which is the same as a .iso Just rename the file to .iso and your all done.

So I’m finally writing another post. It’s been a while. I haven’t forgotten about my site, I just haven’t had much time. Between working full time with a part time job, that sometimes gets full time hours, to having a newborn baby I just haven’t found the time to write down my thoughts. Today is the day that all my packages arrive. I am very exited. I broke down and ordered a Black MacBook with AppleCare and a MobileMe – Family Pack. I figured I didn’t need the power of the MacBook Pro yet, and I can wait until after MacWorld to get one if I decide that I need the power. I also wanted to save the extra money I would of spent on the MacBook Pro and use it toward the best package of them all.

The baby is coming home today. The 5 day long hospital stay is finally coming to an end, and little Juliana will finally get to come home and see her room and all of her toys and clothes. I can’t believe how much more stuff we have gotten since the baby was born. It seemed that everyday I came home I had another car full of stuff to bring into the house.

Barrons reports on an analyst note from Citigroup’s Richard Gardner who claims to have received confirmation that new MacBooks are shipping.The report cites “field checks” as the source of the information and describes the new MacBooks with a “very thin aluminum casing, an LED-backlit display and an aggressive entry-level price point.”
