I am ashamed that I have not made a post in almost a month. Truth be told a lot has been going on recently. Mainly the birth of Juliana. There is just so much going on, from bringing her home from the hospital for the first time, and then having her baptized.
Also there is work, which was going well until I had to go see the neurologist. My back is still not getting any better from the auto accident at work back in October of 2007. I still have pain in my neck as well, but not as bad as my back. The doctor decided to change my medicine and get me a back brace. Well it turns out I am allergic to the medicine he put me on, so it made me break out in hives pretty severely. I had to be taken out of work for a week to try to get rid of them. I’m currently doing pretty good with the progress of getting rid of the hives. The doctor has me on steroids and benadryl to do so. The only problem with this combination is the steroids make me hungry and wired, and the benadryl makes me pass out. It’s been a fun little experiment.
I’m going to try to post more often I promise. I also need to get my pingpress.fm plugin functioning again, so that I can update all my social media sites when I do post.
So for now if your reading this, thank you for being a loyal reader and stay tuned for more tech enthusiasm.
Let me preface this post by saying that I know it’s not going to happen, but it sure would be nice.
Today on Digg there was an Article showing what looks like an ad for the new MacBook Pro. It shows it looking for like the Air, but larger, heavier and more powerful. There is also an article to
this form post. One of the pictures in this post shows this text “The New MacBook Thinner Then Ever Before Coming September 23rd”. Now September 23rd is a big day for me, it just happens to be my 30th birthday. So that’s it really. I want to get a MacBook Pro and I am holding out until the new ones come out. So maybe I can get it as a birthday present to myself. Although, the baby is due close to my birthday as well. That means I will have the best present in the world, but maybe I could still manage to obtain the MacBook Pro and have the second best birthday present in the world.
I would also like to note that I am very tired, and haven’t been sleeping well. I am hoping this all made sense. I’m off now to try and get some of that rare sleep stuff. G’night all.

Our Picks of The Week
Growing Up Geek theme by Robbi-985.
Despite what I said in this week’s Growing Up Geek episode. I have changed my mind.
It appears I have been bitten by the data corruption bug a lot harder then I originally thought. I have lost some about 45 artists worth of music, no big deal. But the thing I am having some trouble with right now is my 2.24TB of DVD files. Yes, that is about 450 DVDs that were stored on my server. It is going to take a long time to re-import them, and get everything set up the way it was.
My problem is that Microsoft markets the Home Server as a way for a family to store all there important digital files, and then discovers that there is a major flaw in the Volume Shadow Copy Service that is corrupting data stored on dual hard drive systems. If you use certain programs and edit the data stored on the server it causes some major problems. I personally would never edit files directly on the server, but I believe my problem came with Vista’s photo gallery. I would import my pictures directly to my pictures store on the Home Server. That way it was a quick direct import. But some pictures were rotated, so I would have to rotate them back. Well apparently that is what sets the bug in motion. Now mind you, I would have never done this if Microsoft had known about the bug earlier, but because they didn’t release the information until way after the product was out of Beta, and even out of the RC phase I had no way to tell. When I got my OEM copy of WHS I did a fresh install, so if I had the problem before hand from the preview copies, it would have been wiped out.
So now I sit here as I’ve invested a couple of hundred dollars in external terabyte drives, and waisting a lot of my valuable time trying to get as much data off of my server as possible before having to re-install the entire OS.
I personally hope there is going to be something done to alleviate the problems everyone in the world has been having with this problem. I have been a huge advocate of WHS since it’s launch, I’ve recommended it to at least 50 people at work, and to countless other people I’ve talked to. I can not imagine how many people have been affected by this, and how much data has been lost.
So I had a hearing today for an accident I was involved in back in October 2007. I was rear-ended by a gentleman who was intoxicated with not only alcohol, but also narcotics. Of course he left the scene. So we had to wait until about 12:30 for the trial to start, when it was scheduled for 11:15. But that’s not really the problem I have with the waisted time. This was only a pre-liminary hearing to see if there was enough evidence against the defendant for us to go to trial. So after having me there to testity as well as a Pennsylvania State Trooper, and a Sergeant from the Pocono Mountain Regional Police we are told that we have sufficient evidence to proceed to trial which will more then likely take place in May. There is actually a whole lot more to the whole thing, but that’s just a lot of typing, and some other information I would prefer not to publicly talk about at the moment.
Onto the next topic. The podcast is officially on iTunes now. It has not fully propegrated all of the feed information. We have most of it in there, but the album artwork has not been cached yet. We also have an explicit tag, so all of youngsters out there beware, it is not for your gentle ears. This week we are planning on covering some current tech topics, as well as some gaming issues. I will of course be talking about Windows Home Server as promised toward the end of last weeks episode. I should get back to work on my materials. I’m not really sure all of what I will be talking about. But maybe I will start to put up information I talk about on the Podcast up on the site here. I can even get like John C. Dvorak and plug my blog all the time.
That’s all I’ve got for the time being. I think I’m doing well on keeping up on my blog. I think I will try to post at least once a week, but I am really trying for almost everyday. Just depends on all of what I have to say.
